Find Alamance Court Schedule

Need an Alamance County court date? Start with the state court calendar system, then check it against the case record itself. The Alamance County court schedule lists the hearings currently set on a case, and those settings shift often. A continuance moves a hearing. A changed court session can too. Some orders even change how a party appears. So pin down the case number, the hearing type, and the current date range before trusting any single setting. When a date matters soon, the safest step is a quick call to the court office handling the case.

How the Alamance County Court Calendar Works

The Alamance County court calendar shows what is set now, not a full history. Alamance County runs on the North Carolina eCourts Portal for hearing searches. Smart Search opens the local Case Summary, also called the Register of Actions. Search Hearings is the route. It covers date, time, location, and hearing context. An old hearing listed in the Case Summary may explain why a case moved. But it is never proof of the next setting.

Alamance County sits inside the unified North Carolina General Court of Justice. One office keeps records for both courts. It is the Alamance County Clerk of Superior Court, serving District Court and Superior Court. Criminal and infraction matters usually start in District Court. Superior Court handles the felony and civil layers above it. Even so, a shared record keeper does not mean every hearing shares a building. Hearings do not all follow one calendar plan.

North Carolina’s Adult Treatment Court information lists District 17 as a local program location.

That listing helps you see the wider court system. Still, it cannot replace a case-specific Alamance County hearing search.

Alamance Court Date Portal Search

Search Hearings is the documented online starting point for a current Alamance court date. Pick Alamance as the location for a case here. Then choose a hearing type, pick a search type, and enter a date range. Search types cover case number and party name. Business name, attorney name, attorney bar number, judicial officer, and courtroom also work. When you have the case number, use it. It is the clearest input.

Hearing-type choices are All Hearing Types, Civil, Criminal, Family, and Probate or Mental Health. A traffic citation rides the criminal or infraction path. Once a calendar result appears, open Smart Search and read the Case Summary. The two Portal areas answer different questions. One finds the present setting; the other gives the event and disposition context behind it.

Check any Search Hearings result again near an important appearance. A continuance, weather event, or case-specific order can change it.

Alamance County Court Date Lookups

When an Alamance County court date stays unclear, try every documented channel. The Portal comes first online. The local Clerk and court offices come next. They can confirm the right division and the current scheduling channel. The county also links civil and criminal calendar endpoints. A browser 403 can block access, though. Their existence proves nothing about fields or update habits. For a reliable online docket search, Portal Search Hearings remains the dependable option.

  1. Open the North Carolina eCourts Portal and select Search Hearings. Set Location to Alamance when the case is local.
  2. Select the hearing type and the most precise search type. Enter the case number when known, or use the party, attorney, judicial-officer, or courtroom route with a date range.
  3. Open the matching case in Smart Search and compare the hearing with Case Events, Dispositions, and any applicable Financial Information. A past hearing is not necessarily the next one.
  4. Check the official civil calendar endpoint or criminal calendar endpoint when appropriate, while treating Portal as the practical fallback if an endpoint will not load.
  5. Call the Alamance County Clerk at 336-570-5200, the Criminal Courthouse at 336-570-5202, the Superior Trial Court Coordinator at 336-570-5216, or the District Court Judges office at 336-570-5212 for the relevant confirmation route.
  6. Use the Clerk public terminal or eCourts kiosk if the public online result does not resolve the setting. The courthouse channel can also help with a public record that is not visible in Portal.

To view a paper file, go to the Clerk’s office in the county of the case. The right phone line can identify the division or confirm a setting. It is not a certified court record.

Alamance Civil and Criminal Calendar Locations

Alamance County splits courtroom activity by building under one Clerk structure. Civil matters other than marriages are heard at the Alamance County Historical Courthouse. The address is 1 Court Square, Graham. Criminal matters are heard at the Judge J.B. Allen, Jr. Criminal Courthouse, 212 W. Elm Street, Graham. Knowing the location tells you which counter and court stream to use, yet both buildings sit inside the Alamance County Clerk of Superior Court system.

Court Settings: What Each Field Means

A court setting is a scheduled event. It is not a final ruling. The Case Summary may show the case number, parties, category, assignment, status, events, dispositions, hearings, and financial information where applicable. Search Hearings sticks to the current calendar. Read the fields together, or you risk treating an old event or a listed balance as your next required appearance.

DateThe calendar date selected for the hearing. Compare it with the current Search Hearings result.
TimeThe time associated with the scheduled event. A case-specific notice controls if it gives different appearance instructions.
Location or courtroomThe court place or courtroom associated with the setting, which may point to the civil or criminal building.
Judicial officerA search option and assignment context when the information is publicly displayed.
Hearing typeThe Portal category used to search, such as Civil, Criminal, Family, or Probate or Mental Health.
Case Events and DispositionsChronological activity and recorded outcomes. Neither field alone establishes the next hearing.

Alamance Superior Civil Setting Requests

For an Alamance Superior Court civil matter, the local Calendar Request matters. It reveals a scheduling workflow all its own. The form asks for a requested hearing or trial date and time. It wants the estimated hearing length too. Parties must state whether they have conferred and agree, along with the subject matter and motions, and a hearing category. Its choices are Motion, Pretrial Hearing, Default, and Other. Note what it is not: a public-record or copy-request form.

The certification section covers readiness and service. It holds service-method and party fields, and a second contact block marks email as required. Local civil case-management material covers three points. The calendar clerk maintains a ready calendar after readiness. A written trial-setting request should come no later than six weeks before the session. And a continuance after trial-calendar publication generally needs a written motion showing compelling necessity.

Alamance local rules and forms publish these local scheduling materials.

Alamance County's own setting form spells out the ground rules. Before a Superior Court civil case lands on a firm trial date, it may need proof of readiness, completed service, and a scheduling request from the parties.

When a Court Date Moves

Court dates in Alamance County shift for many reasons. A continuance request can move a setting. So can a judge's calendar call, bad weather, a closure, remote-hearing instructions, or a case that simply isn't ready. A continuance only postpones things. It settles nothing about the case itself. Do not assume a matter is over or that no appearance is needed. Read the current Portal hearing entry and any case order entered afterward.

District 17 adopted local remote-hearing rules in 2024. Still, that does not mean every Alamance hearing comes with a remote link. The notice or order for your specific case controls how you appear. In Superior Court civil matters, continuance questions go through the Trial Court Coordinator. That office forwards them to the Senior Resident Superior Court Judge and relays the ruling. For other settings, check the portal first. Then call the right Clerk or court-office line.

A case-level lookup pairs well with a calendar check. Alamance County Docket Search walks through how Smart Search shows the Case Summary.

Alamance Court Calendar Terms

Local scheduling terms mark different stages of an Alamance County case, civil or criminal. They aren't interchangeable dates. The labels draw on the local calendar request, civil management material, and statewide Portal vocabulary. One caution applies. Don't guess at an unexplained abbreviation. Read the actual event text in the Case Summary instead.

Ready calendar
The Alamance civil calendar maintained after a case reaches readiness. It is not the same as a published trial date.
Trial calendar
The published list of cases assigned for trial. Local continuance practice becomes more restrictive after publication.
Continuance
A postponement of a setting. Search again for the current hearing rather than assuming the former date remains valid.
Pretrial hearing
A court event before trial and one of the hearing choices shown on the local Superior Court calendar request.
Disposition
A recorded result or outcome. It is distinct from the Hearings panel and does not by itself identify a future setting.

Missed Settings and What Comes Next

Missed an Alamance County setting? Act fast. Search the current Case Summary and Search Hearings, then call the relevant court office. What happens next depends on the type of case. A traffic or criminal matter can trigger a failure to appear, while a civil case may bring its own motion, default, or calendar consequences. Only the court can tell you the present status and the next authorized step.

Missed an Alamance court setting? A missed criminal or infraction date can lead to failure-to-appear action, and an unresolved traffic FTA may be reported after 20 days.

Check the current hearing and Case Summary, then contact the Clerk or the court office immediately for the required appearance, motion, payment, or proof.

Alamance’s first-time FTA policy applies only to qualifying pending criminal or infraction cases under its conditions. It is not an automatic waiver.

Alamance FTA Court-Date Confirmation

An October 2024 District 17 order covers this. Under it, designated clerks can strike first-time FTA status in qualifying pending criminal and infraction District Court cases. The policy is narrow. It's a reason to move quickly, not a reason to assume an online status clears on its own. Confirm the Alamance court date. Check the current case events, and confirm whatever response the court has requested for your matter.

Traffic cases add timing pressure. An unresolved failure to appear may go to NCDMV after 20 days from the court date. A court-disposed amount left unpaid hits a 40-day failure-to-pay reporting point. Those deadlines make a current Alamance court schedule search matter. Still, no search replaces direct confirmation from the court.

The Judicial Branch's statistical and operational reports supply statewide context. They show how local court calendars fit the bigger system.

That operational reporting is background only. For any individual setting, the current Alamance County court calendar and the case record itself are what count.
